v2.11 (July 29, 2005) Changes: EPG data collection wizard and scheduler. It will help you configure XMLtv and TVxb or another data source for program information like downloading xml files from the internet, importing xml files from disk (like the ShowShifter ShowGuide) and importing from any Access database (like the MyTheatre EPG database).  It can be scheduled to run/import daily at a certain time. WebShifter will automatically wake up from stand-by or hibernation mode just before a recording starts and it will block going into stand-by or hibernation mode if a recording is about to start very soon  WebShifter will try to detect if your browser supports JavaScript and disable the use of JavaScript if it is not supported. If you import XMLtv files that have program names and descriptions in multiple languages, you can now specify what your preferred language is when importing such files When recording conflicts occur, you can now optionally disable the conflicting recordings instead of replacing them Support for disabled recordings for ShowShifter. However there is a small catch, WebShifter still doesn't support recordings that are disabled using ShowShifter. If you disable a recording using WebShifter, it will be removed from the ShowShifter schedule and stored in the WebShifter database (so you can't re-enable it in ShowShifter, only in WebShifter) Running recordings in ShowShifter are now shown on the Schedule page (thanks to DB) Added default configuration settings for GBRecord ( http://www.gbpvr.com/GBRecord92.zip ) If WebShifter is set to automatically start on login, you can now specify if this should occur for all users or just for the current user (recommended if you use fast user switching in XP) Added links to Google, IMDB, TV.com, AllPosters.com, Amazon.co.uk, Art.com and Bol.com to the program details page so you can quickly find information or products related to a TV show. v2.04 (June 22, 2005) Changes: Fixed duration bug for repeating recordings. The default is 5 hours. This will show all programs between 5am until 5am the next day (just like in most TV guides). v2.00 Beta 2 (public beta) (March 14, 2005) Changes: Support for WAP. You can now access WebShifter with your mobile phone. The URL is http://<hostname>:<port>/wap/index.wml The [>] links in the channel list, allow you to view a channel in the recording software, making WebShifter act a remote control.  Support for command-line based TV recording software like VirtualVCR WinTV 2000 and DABDig. Basically WebShifter acts as a task scheduler. Information about scheduled recordings is stored in the WebShifter database. At the time the recording should start, WebShifter runs the recording software. Disabling the file browser or the TV guide in the settings, now properly disables it. The pages generated by WebShifter were validated using Validome. The webpages are valid HTML 4.01 Transitional documents. The wappages are valid WML 1.1 documents. The display order of the channels in the guide can now be changed (in the guide setup). Spaces in a XMLtv channel id are handled correctly. The settings page is devided into several tabs, to make it less cluttered.

v2.00 Beta 1a (maintenance release, for test users only) (February 17, 2005) Changes: You can now properly edit scheduled recordings. If you have a WebShifter v1.x key installed, WebShifter no longer complains about it If you schedule a show from the guide for a channel that is not yet mapped to a channel in your recording software, WebShifter notifies you about this and shows a link to set it up. Missing stop times in the XMLtv file are now correctly set to the start time of the next show.

v2.00 Beta 1 (for test users only) (February 15, 2005) Changes: If you're not in the same timezone as the shows in the XMLtv file, you can now specify a timezone offset. Shows that start before 12pm and end after 12pm are now listed in the guide. UTF-8 support for XMLtv files, which means that languages like Hebrew are supported (only in the guide for now). Support for XMLtv files with shows that have no stop time attribute. The stop time is taken from the start time of the next show. The look and feel of the webpages is improved. The colors of the webpages are customizable with an integrated editor. You can also save the color definitions and exchange them with other users (there will be a page for this on the WebShifter website when the final version of v2.00 is released). The file browser is separated from the recording software, meaning that you can set any directory you want to browse in the WebShifter settings. If there are channels in the XMLtv file which you do not want to show up in the guide, you can hide them (use the guide channel setup). A small utility is included (XMLtvList) to import program data from the ShowShifter ShowGuide (v3.10 and up). This is for everybody who does not use an XMLtv grabber but lets ShowShifter retrieve program data from a DVB card. Just run it once a day to update the WebShifter guide. WebShifter no longer uses cookies.

April 15, 2004 After a long period of silence, a new version of WebShifter will soon be released. It will have a new database for the XMLtv guide to improve performance with large XMLtv datafiles and a file browser. More features are planned for a later version, like a search and auto-schedule function in the XMLtv guide. The new version will come in three flavours: With WebShifter Light you can only schedule programs manually. There is no XMLtv guide and no file browser. This version is free and requires no registration. With WebShifter Standard you can do everything v1.10 could do and it allows you to take a read-only sneak peek at the file browser. This version is free, but requires registration. Finally, WebShifter Gold, has all features, including the file browser which allows you to delete files to free disk space and it allows you to download your recordings. This version will cost € 35,00

v1.10 (July 12, 2003) WebShifter now features a XMLtv Guide, to allow you to schedule programs much quicker.  This feature should work fine, however I could only test it with my XMLtv datafiles, so if you encounter any problems, please let me know.

June 18, 2003 An update on WebShifter developments: I am working on an XMLtv browser, which is already working at the moment on my PC at home, but it still needs a lot of testing.  It is not really meant as an EPG (though you could use it that way), but more as an aid to schedule programs much quicker. If you regularly download program information in XMLtv format for other purposes and you would like to test this new functionality, please let me know by e-mail and you will receive a working beta version as soon as it's available. When you send me an e-mail please also attach your XMLtv data for the next couple of days, so I have other XMLtv source files to test with.

v1.04 (April 26, 2003) New features: WebShifter now starts minimized in the icon tray AT LAST: Password Protection!  Right-click the WebShifter icon and choose settings to set the password You can set the default TCP/IP port WebShifter is running on Right-click the WebShifter icon and choose settings Skin support. Two skins are provided: one with graphics, one without graphics (to improve access speed). If you want to make your own skin, simply copy a directory in the skins directory and start customizing :-). If I like it I'll add it to WebShifter.  Some bugfixes with thanks to bishopst: A recording that ends at 0:00 is now properly displayed When only the filename is entered and no program name, then the filename is now shown as program name Important information on repeating recordings: WebShifter does not and can not support repeating recordings, simply because the interface provided by ShowShifter does not support this. Repeating recordings can now be edited, but when you save it, it turns into a non-repeating recording. The conflict resolution does not yet take repeating recordings into account, so if you're trying to schedule a recording which is in conflict with a repeating recording WebShifter currently fails and you'll get an error from your browser that it can't retreive the page you requested.
